In a bold leap toward modernizing public safety and service delivery, the Punjab government, under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has launched a pioneering initiative to introduce advanced driving simulators across the province.

This innovative program, executed under the guidance of Additional IG Traffic Mirza Farhan Baig, is set to transform the traditional approach to driver training by integrating immersive, technology-driven instruction into the curriculum. The Punjab advanced driving simulator initiative is part of a larger strategy to enhance road safety, reduce traffic accidents, and promote responsible driving behavior.

Phase 1: Simulator Deployment in Key Cities

The first phase of the rollout has already seen the installation of high-tech simulators at major traffic training centers in:

  • Lahore
  • Rawalpindi
  • Faisalabad
  • Gujranwala
  • Multan
  • Gujrat

“These simulators are designed to replicate real-world driving conditions in a secure and controlled environment,” stated Additional IG Baig. “This allows learners to develop essential technical skills and handle various traffic scenarios without endangering themselves or others.”

Empowering Women Through Inclusive Training

One of the most impactful aspects of this initiative is its focus on women’s empowerment. The new simulator-based training modules offer a safe and private space for women to learn driving, helping them build confidence and independence before taking to the roads.

This inclusive approach reflects Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s vision for gender equality and innovation in public services. It supports broader goals of social mobility and women’s participation in the workforce.

What’s Next: Expansion in Phase 2

The second phase of the project will further expand the training model by incorporating real-world traffic scenarios and hands-on instruction in additional cities across Punjab. This next step aims to make driver education more accessible, inclusive, and practical, preparing citizens for the demands of modern road conditions.

A Model for Smart Governance

This initiative positions Punjab as a national leader in smart governance and public safety innovation. By embracing simulation technology, the province is not only improving the quality of driver training but also taking proactive steps to reduce road accidents, support sustainable transportation, and foster civic responsibility.

The Punjab advanced driving simulator initiative is a game-changing step toward safer roads, better-trained drivers, and a more empowered society. Under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab is redefining public service delivery through technology, setting a powerful example for other provinces to follow.
