In a recent announcement, the government has revised the prices of petroleum products for the next 15 days. According to the latest notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been increased, while the price of petrol remains unchanged.
The price of high-speed diesel has been raised by Rs. 5 per liter, bringing it to Rs. 251.29 per liter. This increase will affect transportation costs, as HSD is widely used in commercial vehicles, trucks, and agricultural machinery across Pakistan. The hike may also lead to increased prices in goods transportation and other sectors reliant on diesel.
On the other hand, the price of petrol remains steady at Rs. 247.03 per liter. This decision provides some relief to private vehicle owners and motorbike users, who heavily depend on petrol for their daily commute. Despite rising global oil prices, the government has chosen to maintain the petrol price to avoid further financial strain on consumers.
The new petroleum prices are effective immediately and will remain in place for the next two weeks, according to the Ministry of Finance. These adjustments are part of the government’s periodic review of fuel prices, which takes into account international oil trends, exchange rates, and local inflationary pressures.
While the unchanged petrol price offers temporary relief, the increase in diesel prices may contribute to inflationary pressures in sectors that rely on diesel-powered transportation. Analysts predict that the revised rates could impact overall market dynamics in the coming weeks, particularly in terms of logistics and agricultural costs.
Consumers and businesses are advised to take note of these price changes as they plan their fuel consumption and expenses.
