The Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service in Peshawar is set to expand its network to Khyber Road, a move aimed at improving access to the city’s Judicial Complex.

Meeting and Decision

The announcement came during a meeting chaired by Peshawar Bar Association President Qaiser Zaman and attended by BRT Project Director Zahid Ali Shah, the sessions court administrator, the court’s security officer, Additional Assistant Commissioner Sajjad, and other officials.

During the session, Zahid Ali Shah confirmed that the BRT authorities had approved the route extension in direct response to the Bar Association’s request.

Dedicated Station for Court Visitors

As part of the extension, a dedicated BRT station will be established at Gate No. 2 of the Judicial Complex, providing greater convenience for lawyers, paralegal staff, and litigants. This addition aims to streamline court access and reduce travel time for those who regularly visit the complex.

A Win for the Legal Community

President Qaiser Zaman expressed gratitude to District and Sessions Judge Peshawar Inamullah Wazir, the BRT administration, and all relevant stakeholders for fulfilling what he described as a longstanding demand of the legal fraternity.

Improved Urban Connectivity

The Peshawar BRT, already a vital part of the city’s public transport network, continues to evolve to meet the needs of its passengers. The extension to Khyber Road is expected to enhance accessibility, reduce traffic congestion, and promote eco-friendly commuting for professionals and citizens alike.

This latest development underscores the BRT’s role in connecting key urban areas and supporting essential public services in Peshawar.
