In a notable development, the Pakistani government has announced a decrease in the prices of petrol and diesel for the last half of June. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the cost of petrol has been lowered by Rs 10.20 per litre, and diesel by Rs 2.44 per litre.
Typically, price adjustments for petroleum products are disclosed on the 15th and the last day of each month. However, this announcement was made a day earlier than the scheduled June 15 revision.
The Prime Minister’s Office also noted that on June 1, the price of petrol had already been reduced by Rs 4.74 per litre. These ongoing efforts to reduce fuel costs are part of a broader strategy to support the economy and ease the financial burden on the public.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been actively working to boost industry and exports. Recently, he announced a reduction in electricity prices for industrial sectors by Rs 10.69 per unit, bringing the new rate to Rs 34.99 per unit. This measure is expected to enhance industrial productivity and promote export growth, further stabilizing the country’s economy.
The government’s proactive approach in adjusting fuel and electricity prices highlights its dedication to economic growth and support for both consumers and the industrial sector.
