Pakistan Railways Issues Revised Train Timings Due to Fog From Lahore and Faisalabad

Pakistan Railways has issued a revised train timetable due to foggy weather conditions, affecting several trains departing from Lahore and Faisalabad to major destinations including Karachi, Quetta, Rawalpindi, and other cities. Officials confirmed the changes on Tuesday, stating that the decision was taken to ensure passenger safety amid reduced visibility.

Dense fog during winter months often disrupts rail operations across Punjab, particularly during evening and nighttime hours. As visibility drops, train speeds are reduced to minimize the risk of accidents, leading to delays in departure and arrival times. In response, Pakistan Railways has proactively adjusted selected schedules to better manage operations and inform passengers in advance.

Revised Train Timings From Lahore

According to the updated schedule, the following trains departing from Lahore have experienced delays:

  • Karakoram Express (42-Down) – Karachi
    • Scheduled Departure: 3:00 pm
    • Revised Departure: 4:00 pm (1-hour delay)
  • Pak Business Express (34-Down) – Karachi
    • Scheduled Departure: 4:30 pm
    • Revised Departure: 6:15 pm (1 hour 45 minutes delay)
  • Karachi Express (16-Down) – Karachi
    • Scheduled Departure: 6:00 pm
    • Revised Departure: 7:30 pm (1 hour 30 minutes delay)

Revised Train Timings From Faisalabad

  • Millat Express (18-Down) – Karachi
    • Scheduled Departure: 5:50 pm
    • Revised Departure: 6:50 pm (1-hour delay)

Pakistan Railways clarified that all other trains bound for Karachi, Quetta, Rawalpindi, and other destinations are currently operating according to their normal schedules, despite the foggy conditions. However, officials warned that timings may change further if weather conditions worsen.

The revised fog schedule has been issued purely as a precautionary measure to protect passenger safety, as low visibility can affect signaling and braking distances. Travelers are strongly advised to confirm their train timings before heading to stations to avoid inconvenience.
