Pakistan’s motorcycle industry delivered a remarkable turnaround in 2025, registering a historic 35% year-on-year increase in sales, according to the latest industry data. The strong recovery comes despite ongoing economic challenges, highlighting the continued reliance of Pakistani consumers on motorcycles as a primary and cost-effective mode of transportation.
Motorcycles remain the most widely used form of transport in Pakistan
From January to December 2025, a total of 1,898,767 motorcycles were manufactured across the country, reflecting sustained demand, improved financing availability, and renewed consumer confidence. Industry analysts note that rising fuel prices and urban congestion have further reinforced motorcycles as a practical choice for daily commuting.
In terms of engine capacity, 70cc motorcycles dominated the market, recording sales of 1,099,941 units, making them the top choice for budget-conscious buyers. 125cc motorcycles followed closely, with 579,127 units sold, driven by consumers seeking a balance between performance and fuel efficiency.
70cc and 125cc bikes lead motorcycle sales growth
A closer look at growth by engine category reveals sharp increases across most segments. 70cc motorcycles recorded an impressive 56% growth, while 125cc sales rose by 32%. The 100cc category grew by 10%, whereas 150cc motorcycles saw modest growth of 2%, indicating continued preference for economical options over higher-powered models.
Company-wise performance also stood out in 2025. United Motors posted a strong 51% increase in sales, while Unique Motors surprised the market with a massive 90% growth, emerging as one of the fastest-growing brands. Hi-Speed Motorcycles recorded a 60% rise, and market leader Honda maintained solid momentum with a 32% increase in sales.
Local manufacturers benefit from rising motorcycle demand
According to auto industry experts, the motorcycle sector’s recovery is expected to generate employment, support local vendors, and strengthen the domestic supply chain. The surge also signals that consumers continue to prioritize affordable, reliable, and fuel-efficient vehicles, especially amid rising living costs.
With demand remaining strong, industry stakeholders are optimistic that Pakistan’s motorcycle market will continue its upward trajectory, playing a key role in the country’s broader automotive and manufacturing growth.
