In a transformative move toward sustainable mobility, BYD Pakistan – Mega Motor Company (BYD | MMC) has partnered with HUBCO Green (Private) Limited (HGL) to launch Pakistan’s largest DC fast-charging network for New Energy Vehicles (NEVs). This landmark initiative addresses a critical gap in Pakistan’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, accelerating the country’s transition to clean, reliable, and sustainable transportation.

Nationwide NEV Charging Infrastructure Rollout

As part of a long-term strategic roadmap, HGL will deploy 128 DC fast chargers across Pakistan over the next three years, with 50 installations expected by December 2025. The charging network will be rolled out in three key areas:

  • Urban Centers: In collaboration with leading Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) including PSO, PARCO Gunvor, and Attock Petroleum Limited.
  • Intercity Highways and Motorways: Chargers installed every 150–200 km to support long-distance EV travel.
  • Destination Charging Points: Set up at malls, commercial hubs, hotels, and hospitals to maximize accessibility.

Several stations are already operational in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, including at PSO fuel stations and BYD Pakistan dealerships, offering a glimpse of a greener mobility future.

Driving the Future of Electric Mobility in Pakistan

This partnership establishes BYD Pakistan as the first major automotive company in the country to lead infrastructure development at such scale. It demonstrates a deep commitment to sustainable mobility solutions and marks a significant step forward in reducing Pakistan’s carbon emissions.

“Range anxiety remains one of the biggest barriers to NEV adoption in Pakistan,” said Danish Khaliq, Vice President Sales and Strategy at BYD Pakistan. “Our partnership with HUBCO Green is not only addressing infrastructure gaps but also building consumer confidence in electric mobility. This initiative empowers Pakistanis to adopt clean transportation as a practical and reliable option.”

A Vision for a Greener Pakistan

Adding his insights, Masood Zafar, Vice President Projects at HUBCO, remarked:

“We believe that the backbone of any green transportation revolution is robust infrastructure. Our collaboration with BYD Pakistan is about laying the groundwork for a cleaner and greener future—enabling industries, empowering individuals, and redefining the mobility landscape in Pakistan.”

Supporting Pakistan’s Climate Goals

This initiative supports the Government of Pakistan’s climate action goals and strengthens the national push toward a low-carbon economy. With continued investment and expansion, BYD Pakistan aims to provide widespread access to sustainable mobility solutions, shaping a future where electric vehicles are mainstream.
