
In a move to tackle Islamabad’s long-standing parking challenges, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has completed a new parking facility at the Pak Secretariat, one of the city’s busiest government complexes. The facility, which spans 133,729 square feet, can accommodate over 1,000 vehicles, offering much-needed relief to government employees and visitors alike.
The inauguration was led by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, who inspected the project on Thursday. He emphasized that the initiative is part of CDA’s broader strategy to modernize Islamabad’s infrastructure and provide citizens with greater convenience.
The Pak Secretariat, home to several federal ministries, has long faced congestion issues due to insufficient parking. According to CDA officials, the new project is designed not only to ease traffic congestion but also to save time and energy for daily commuters.
“Solving fundamental issues like parking will not only reduce traffic congestion but also save citizens’ time and energy,” Randhawa remarked during the inspection, while appreciating the Engineering Wing and project teams for their efforts.
