By Honda has finally answered its critics with the launch of the new Acura RSX, a premium all-electric vehicle that marks the company’s bold reset in the EV era. For years, many claimed Honda was late to the electric game, but the automaker insists its patience was strategic. The Acura RSX is the first home-grown EV from Honda’s luxury arm, built to set a new standard for performance and technology.
What We Know About the New Acura RSX
The Acura RSX is the first model to ride on Honda’s new software-defined EV architecture, which will also underpin the upcoming Honda 0 Series. This platform introduces a new suite of digital tools, including a driver assistance system, AI-powered personalization, a built-in digital assistant, and true over-the-air updates.
As a premium Acura product, the RSX comes standard with:
- Dual-motor all-wheel drive
- Brembo front brakes
- Double-wishbone front suspension
While these features signal performance potential, Honda has not yet revealed weight, power figures, acceleration times, battery size, or range. Enthusiasts will have to wait for more details before judging whether this is truly a performance EV or a safe luxury bet.
Unlike the ZDX, which was developed with General Motors, the RSX is built entirely on Honda’s new platform. It will also include Tesla-style NACS charging plugs, giving drivers native access to Superchargers. The vehicle will support vehicle-to-load power exporting, a feature increasingly in demand.

Production will take place in Ohio on flexible lines that also handle gas cars, allowing Honda to adjust output based on demand. Delivery is expected in the second half of 2026.
