The Punjab Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) has launched an innovative electric cart “City Tour” service at Kashmir Point, Murree, as part of a series of tourism development projects initiated under the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

Inaugurated by PTDC Managing Director Asim Raza, the electric cart service offers visitors an eco-friendly and comfortable way to explore Murree’s breathtaking hill station. Designed to reduce traffic congestion and minimize pollution, this initiative provides tourists with a sustainable travel option while enjoying the city’s scenic views.

The service is expected to become a major attraction for families, nature lovers, and international tourists seeking a safe and modern transportation experience in Murree. With its affordable fares and easy accessibility, the electric cart tour is set to redefine local sightseeing.

Beyond the electric cart service, PTDC is also fast-tracking several other landmark projects to enhance Murree’s tourism appeal. These include the development of a glass bridge, a camping pods village, a new resort, a theme park, and a paragliding club. Plans for new chairlifts are also underway, expanding recreational opportunities for visitors.

Meanwhile, a Rs550 million restoration project of Murree’s historic Mall Road—over 160 years old—has been announced. This initiative, led by the Walled City Authority Lahore in collaboration with experts and local authorities, aims to revive Murree’s cultural charm and make it a world-class tourist destination.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz reiterated her vision of transforming Murree into a global tourism hub, ensuring that all projects meet international standards and are completed within a year.

With the launch of the electric cart service and other ongoing projects, Murree is on track to reclaim its status as Pakistan’s premier tourist hotspot, combining history, natural beauty, and sustainable tourism.
