With millions of tourists expected to visit Murree during Eid, authorities have introduced enhanced traffic management measures to ensure smooth travel and public safety. Under the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and senior police officials, Murree Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Mughees Ahmed Hashmi has unveiled a comprehensive plan to tackle congestion, improve road access, and provide real-time traffic updates.

Control Room for Tourist Assistance

To assist visitors, a control room has been set up at Sunny Bank, offering real-time updates and travel assistance. Tourists can contact the control room at 051-9269200 for inquiries, traffic updates, and emergency support. This initiative aims to enhance tourist convenience and ensure a hassle-free experience for those traveling to Murree.

Key Traffic Management Measures

Given the high influx of visitors, traffic police will be deployed at key entry points, and information will be shared via:
Banners
Pamphlets
Road barriers

Authorities have confirmed that major access routes, including the Expressway and GT Road, will remain open, ensuring smooth entry and exit for travelers.

Road Conversions and Closures

To streamline traffic flow, five key roads have been converted into one-way streets:
1️⃣ Viewforth Road
2️⃣ Bank Road
3️⃣ Hall Road
4️⃣ Kuldana Road
5️⃣ Ridge Bell Road

Additionally, Mall Road will be closed to all traffic, ensuring a pedestrian-friendly environment for tourists.

Parking Regulations and Entry Restrictions

To prevent congestion, GPO Chowk and surrounding areas have been designated as no-parking zones. Meanwhile, essential supply vehicles, such as water tankers and food delivery trucks, will only be allowed between 1 AM and 7 AM.

Tourist Advisory

Visitors planning a trip to Murree are advised to:
✔ Check traffic updates on @ctpmurree before traveling
✔ Ensure vehicles are in good condition to avoid breakdowns
✔ Follow designated routes and parking regulations to prevent traffic violations

The new traffic management plan reflects the authorities’ commitment to making Murree a safe and enjoyable destination for Eid travelers. With a dedicated control room, real-time updates, and well-organized road planning, tourists can look forward to a smooth and hassle-free experience in the scenic hill station.

Stay informed, plan ahead, and enjoy a memorable Eid in Murree!
