Essential Safety Tips for Rainy Weather Travel
To minimize risks and ensure safer travel during heavy rainfall, the Motorway Police strongly recommends:
- Reduce Speed: Drive significantly slower than usual to maintain control.
- Increase Following Distance: Keep extra space from the vehicle ahead to allow safe braking.
- Check Vehicle Condition: Ensure wipers, headlights, and brakes are fully functional before travel.
- Avoid Non-Essential Travel: Postpone trips if heavy rain makes driving hazardous.
For immediate assistance, commuters can contact the Motorway Police 24/7 helpline at 130.
With rainfall expected to continue in coming days, adherence to these safety guidelines can greatly reduce accident risks and ensure safer journeys for all road users.
