In a move to promote electric vehicle (EV) adoption in Pakistan, MG Pakistan has launched an interest-free EMI (Equated Monthly Installment) plan for its EV models. This initiative aims to make EV ownership more accessible by offering flexible financing options, helping buyers shift toward sustainable mobility without financial strain.
Flexible EMI Plans for EV Buyers
MG Pakistan’s interest-free EMI scheme offers two payment plans:
✔ 12-month plan
✔ 18-month plan
Down Payment Requirements:
- 50% for individual buyers
- 30% for Blue Chip Corporate Clients
The remaining amount is payable in equal monthly installments, making EVs more affordable and accessible.
Pricing & Monthly Installments
The EMI plan applies to MG Pakistan’s popular EV models, with the following prices:
MG4 (51KW): PKR 9,799,000
MG4 (64KW) & MGZS SR: PKR 10,990,000
For customers opting for the 18-month installment plan, the monthly payments are:
- MG4 (51KW): PKR 279,139 per month
- MG4 (64KW) & MGZS SR: PKR 312,222 per month
Note: An additional PKR 250,000 applies to all variants except for the 12-month plan.
A Step Towards Greater EV Adoption in Pakistan
This initiative comes at a time when EV demand in Pakistan is rising due to:
✔ Increasing fuel prices
✔ Growing environmental concerns
✔ Global shift toward green energy
However, key challenges remain, including:
- Limited charging infrastructure
- High upfront cost of EVs
- Market resistance to electric mobility
Can MG’s EMI Plan Transform Pakistan’s EV Market?
While MG Pakistan’s EMI scheme could encourage EV adoption, its long-term success will depend on several factors:
✔ Improvement in EV charging stations
✔ Government incentives & tax reductions
✔ Changing consumer attitudes towards EVs
If successful, this interest-free EMI model may inspire other automakers to introduce similar financing options, making EVs more mainstream in Pakistan.
Will MG’s initiative spark a major shift toward EVs in Pakistan?
