MG Motors Pakistan is set to make waves with the launch of the MG HS Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) on October 25. This new variant is not just another addition to the HS lineup; it’s a major leap into the future of eco-friendly driving. As Pakistan’s first locally assembled true hybrid electric SUV, the MG HS PHEV promises to revolutionize the local automotive market with best-in-class fuel efficiency and cutting-edge hybrid technology.

MG HS PHEV: A Facelifted True Hybrid

The unveiling of the MG HS PHEV marks the introduction of a plug-in hybrid version of the popular C-segment crossover SUV. What makes this even more exciting is that this variant will be the facelift model, offering not only hybrid performance but also a refreshed look compared to the gasoline-only version.

As the hybrid and electric vehicle trend continues to dominate the global automotive industry, MG Motors is positioning itself as a leader in Pakistan’s rapidly growing EV market. The launch is scheduled just in time for the Pakistan Auto Show 2024, where the CKD (completely knocked down) variant will make its official debut.

Engine and Power Performance

The MG HS PHEV combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor, delivering impressive performance. The hybrid system offers a combined power output of 160 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The electric motor alone produces 120 hp and 230 Nm of torque, and it is powered by a 16.6 kWh battery. This battery provides a pure electric range of 52 km, ideal for city commutes and reducing fuel consumption.

With its Euro 5 emission standard compliance, the MG HS PHEV boasts a fuel efficiency of 58 km per liter, making it a game-changer in Pakistan’s automotive landscape. While real-world fuel consumption will depend on driving habits, this impressive figure places the HS PHEV at the forefront of fuel-efficient vehicles in the market.

Dimensions and Design

The MG HS PHEV retains the sleek and modern design of the HS lineup with some minor updates. Its dimensions remain the same:

  • Length: 4574 mm
  • Width: 1876 mm
  • Height: 1685 mm
  • Wheelbase: 2720 mm

These dimensions ensure a spacious and comfortable interior, perfect for families and long journeys. The trunk volume is also notable, offering 448 liters of cargo space, expandable to 1375 liters when needed.

Other Features

The MG HS PHEV comes equipped with several features that enhance its safety, comfort, and driving experience:

  • Braking System: Front ventilated disc brakes and rear disc brakes for reliable stopping power.
  • Steering: Electric power steering ensures smooth handling.
  • Fuel Tank Capacity: The vehicle is equipped with a 37-liter fuel tank, making it efficient for longer trips.
  • Alloy Rims: The car comes fitted with 235/50R18 tires, providing a firm grip and stylish look.
  • Drivetrain: Front-wheel drive (FWD) ensures a balanced and comfortable drive.

Why the MG HS PHEV?

With the growing demand for environmentally friendly and fuel-efficient vehicles, the MG HS PHEV is perfectly timed to meet the needs of Pakistan’s evolving automotive market. The best-in-class fuel efficiency and advanced hybrid technology make it a top choice for those seeking to reduce their carbon footprint without compromising on style or performance.

Mark your calendars for October 25, as MG Motors Pakistan unveils the country’s first locally assembled True Hybrid Electric SUV. The MG HS PHEV is not just a car; it’s a symbol of innovation and the future of transportation. Whether you’re driving through city streets or planning long road trips, the MG HS PHEV offers a blend of power, efficiency, and environmental consciousness that is set to revolutionize the way you experience driving.

Stay tuned for the official launch at the Pakistan Auto Show 2024 and witness the next step in Pakistan’s hybrid electric revolution!
