Atlas Honda Takes 87% Market Share

In the PAMA Report, Atlas Honda (AHL) reported selling 103,297 units in May 2024, which is a record-breaking figure for the year. With total 2-wheeler sales amounting to 118,811 units, Atlas Honda alone captured a staggering 87% of the market share.

Despite consumer criticism regarding quality and pricing, with the most basic CD70 priced at 157,900 PKR and the CG125 at 234,900 PKR, Atlas Honda continues to dominate the 2-wheeler market without any significant competition.

United Dominates in Locally Produced Motorcycle Market

United Auto Motorcycle emerged as the leader in the locally produced motorcycle market, commonly known as “China bikes” in the local market. In May 2024, United sold 9,131 units, surpassing its closest competitor, Road Prince Motorcycle, which sold only 1,429 units. This represents a 538% increase in sales for United compared to Road Prince.

Comparison

Compared to April 2024, sales in May 2024 increased by 10%. April 2024 had a cumulative sales figure of 107,590 units, marking a 10% increase month-over-month. Compared to May 2023, there was a 22% increase in sales. May 2023 saw sales of 97,189 units, whereas May 2024 recorded sales of 118,811 units.

Future Outlook

These sales figures for May 2024 set the stage for what’s to come in the motorcycle market, particularly with the introduction of new IMF deals that may impact the industry.
