Traffic flow on the Lahore section of the M-2 Motorway has experienced a noticeable slowdown due to ongoing construction and maintenance work near the Ravi Bridge, according to an official statement from the Motorway Police.

The repair operations, which include resurfacing and structural maintenance, have created temporary bottlenecks along the busy route connecting Lahore to Islamabad. As a result, commuters traveling through the affected stretch are facing delays, particularly during morning and evening peak hours.

To manage the situation and ensure road safety, the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) have deployed additional patrol units and personnel in the area. These teams are actively guiding traffic, managing lane discipline, and responding swiftly to any breakdowns or emergencies that could further disrupt the flow.

Officials have temporarily restricted the entry of heavy transport vehicles (HTVs) into the affected zone to minimize congestion and prevent accidents. Light vehicle drivers are being urged to exercise patience, maintain safe distances, and follow the directions of on-duty officers.

A Motorway Police spokesperson emphasized the importance of checking real-time traffic updates before starting any journey on the M-2. Motorists are encouraged to contact the Motorway Helpline (130) for the latest traffic information, assistance, or to report any emergencies.

The NHMP reiterated its commitment to ensuring smooth and safe travel despite the unavoidable inconvenience caused by maintenance work. Travelers have been advised to plan their trips accordingly and remain vigilant while passing through the Ravi Bridge section until the repair work is completed.

Traffic updates and repair details are based on official NHMP information and may change without notice. Travelers are advised to check the latest advisories via the Motorway helpline (130) before journeying.
