Lexus has revealed pricing for the redesigned 2026 Lexus ES, and the biggest surprise is that the fully electric version is now the most affordable model in the lineup. The ES350e electric sedan starts at $48,795 in the United States, making it about $2,200 cheaper than the base hybrid version.
This pricing shift is unusual in the automotive market. Electric vehicles often cost more than their hybrid or gasoline counterparts. However, Lexus has positioned the new ES EV aggressively to attract buyers entering the luxury electric sedan segment.
The new ES also grows in size compared with the previous generation and introduces fully electric power for the first time in the model’s history.
Electric Lexus ES Models and Key Specifications
The base electric variant is the 2026 Lexus ES350e, which comes with a single electric motor powering the front wheels. The motor produces 220 horsepower and accelerates the sedan from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about 7.7 seconds.
The ES350e uses a 77 kilowatt hour battery pack with a claimed EPA estimated range of around 300 miles. This range places it among competitive electric luxury sedans in the market.
Buyers who want more performance can choose the Lexus ES500e, which uses a dual motor all wheel drive system. This model produces 338 horsepower and reduces the 0 to 60 mph sprint to about 5.4 seconds.
However, the added power comes with a lower driving range. Lexus estimates the ES500e can travel roughly 250 miles on a full charge.
The all wheel drive system can send up to 100 percent of available power to either the front or rear axle when needed. In normal driving conditions, the system prioritizes the front axle to maintain efficiency.
Lexus will offer both electric models in Premium trim, while the ES500e can also be upgraded to a Luxury trim that increases the price to about $60,195.
The hybrid option remains available in the lineup. The Lexus ES350h Premium hybrid starts at $50,995, which makes it more expensive than the entry level electric model. Adding all wheel drive increases the price to $52,395.
Although Lexus has not released full trim details yet, all versions of the new ES will include a 14 inch infotainment display, wireless smartphone connectivity, and modern driver assistance features.
The New ES
The electric versions also support DC fast charging that can recharge the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in about 30 minutes. Lexus has not officially confirmed the maximum charging power, but the system is expected to reach around 150 kilowatts, similar to the related Lexus RZ electric crossover.
The 2026 ES represents an important step for Lexus as the brand expands its electric vehicle lineup. It becomes the company’s first fully electric sedan and also grows larger to fill the space left by the discontinued LS flagship.
The new ES is longer than competitors like the BMW i5 while costing significantly less. This pricing strategy could make it an attractive option for luxury EV buyers seeking a spacious electric sedan without entering the higher price ranges of European rivals.

Driving impressions of the electric ES are still unavailable, but the model uses a platform related to the one found in the Lexus RZ. That crossover showed strong comfort and technology features, though some reviewers noted areas that could improve.
As Lexus continues expanding its electric lineup, the 2026 ES could play a major role by offering a balance of luxury, technology, and competitive pricing in the growing electric sedan segment.
