Lahore Parking Company Expands Automated Parking System to 10 New Locations

The Lahore Parking Company (LPC) has announced a major upgrade to its city-wide parking operations by abolishing the traditional slip system and expanding its automated parking system to 10 additional high-traffic sites across Lahore. This move follows the successful implementation of the system at Liberty and Barkat Market, which has shown promising results in improving efficiency and transparency.

To facilitate this modernization, the LPC plans to purchase and install 100 new thermal printers at key locations, including Children’s Hospital, Main Market Gulberg, Hall Road, Bhandara Center, Mall Road, Nila Gumbad, Johar Town, Iqbal Town, Model Town, and Empress Market.

Under the new system, parking attendants will be equipped with handheld smart devices that will generate digital tickets on the spot. These handheld units will communicate with a central dashboard that monitors all parking sites in real-time. This integration is expected to minimize human error, eliminate chances of ticket fraud, and improve overall revenue collection — a persistent challenge with the outdated manual slip system.

Officials say that a tender will soon be floated for the procurement of the necessary equipment and devices. Once implemented, the new system is expected to deliver smoother parking operations and greater convenience for citizens.

The LPC’s vision is to fully automate parking services throughout Lahore to align with global best practices for urban parking management. By digitizing parking tickets and centralizing data monitoring, the company aims to curb misuse, plug revenue leakages, and provide a more reliable parking experience for commuters.

After the success of automated parking at Liberty and Barkat Market, citizens can expect similar efficiency and transparency at the new sites. The initiative also demonstrates Lahore’s commitment to embracing smart city solutions that leverage technology to improve urban infrastructure and services.

As Lahore continues to grow, modern and transparent parking management will play a key role in easing congestion and offering hassle-free parking for residents and visitors alike.

What do you think about the Lahore Parking Company’s decision to automate more parking sites? Will this upgrade make parking in the city more convenient and transparent? Share your thoughts below!
