Lahore to host a thrilling Jeep Rally Event Starting May 4

Lahore, Pakistan’s cultural capital, is set to witness its first-ever adrenaline-pumping jeep rally from May 4, promising an exhilarating experience for participants and spectators alike.

According to Raja Jahangir Anwar, Secretary of Punjab Ministry of Tourism, over 50 drivers from across the country will converge at the historic location of Ravi river to partake in this exciting event aimed at promoting healthy sports activities and boosting tourism.

In an interview with a private news channel, Anwar highlighted the significance of this traditional event, stating that it not only aims to revive the tourism industry but also create new economic opportunities for the region. The rally will kick off with participant registration, vehicle tagging, technical examinations, and medical checkups for all drivers, ensuring a safe and well-organized competition.

The Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) has a rich history of organizing jeep rallies in the deserts since 2005. However, this time, the Lahore Ravi Rally marks a significant milestone as it brings the excitement to an urban center. Anwar mentioned that similar rallies will be organized in other rivers following the success of the Ravi river event.

To ensure the safety and convenience of participants and spectators, shuttle buses and rescue facilities will be made available throughout the rally. Moreover, stringent security arrangements are being finalized by the police and other law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and order during the event.

In addition to the heart-pounding action on the tracks, the jeep rally celebrations will feature a variety of cultural events managed by the government departments concerned, adding a colorful touch to the festivities.
