In a major travel advisory, authorities have completely closed the Lahore–Islamabad Motorway (M-2) for all traffic amid heightened security measures. According to official sources, all entry points, including Babu Sabu and Thokar Niaz Baig in Lahore, have been sealed, with similar closures implemented at multiple locations along the route.

In Rawalpindi, the Faizabad Interchange has been blocked by containers, while GT Road from Muridke has also been closed, effectively cutting off alternative intercity routes between Lahore and Islamabad.

Orange Line Metro Train Suspended in Lahore

Adding to commuter woes, the Orange Line Metro Train service in Lahore has been temporarily suspended due to the ongoing situation. Passengers relying on public transport are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and stay indoors unless movement is essential.

Major Routes and Entry Points Sealed

All routes leading to Islamabad have been completely sealed, with containers blocking critical entry points including D-Chowk, Faizabad, NADRA Chowk, and Serena Chowk. Authorities have urged the public not to attempt entry from any motorway points, including Babu Sabu, Thokar Niaz Baig, or Muridke, as access is strictly restricted.
