Kia Pakistan has issued an official clarification following the circulation of a fake price list on social media platforms. The document, which falsely claims a significant Rs. 1 million price drop for the Kia Sportage L 2.0L FWD variant, has misled potential buyers and raised concerns across online automotive communities.

Styled to mimic an official press release, the fraudulent document suggests the price of the popular SUV has been reduced from Rs. 11,825,000 to Rs. 10,825,000, effective April 18, 2025. It also includes unchanged pricing for the Sportage L 2.0L Alpha at Rs. 9,499,000, and a claimed reduction in the price of the Sportage L 1.6L GDI HEV, from Rs. 12,850,000 to Rs. 11,900,000.

Kia Pakistan Responds: “FAKE” Label and Public Warning

In response, Kia Pakistan promptly reacted by stamping the viral document with a bold “FAKE” watermark and issued a strong warning to the public. The company emphasized that no official price changes have been announced and urged consumers to avoid spreading misinformation.

Kia also advised customers to verify all vehicle pricing and updates only through its official website or authorized dealerships across Pakistan. The origin of the fake release is still under investigation, but Kia reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and customer trust.

Why Misinformation Like This Matters

Spreading unverified or false pricing details can have serious implications in the automotive market. It can cause confusion among buyers, disrupt dealership operations, and negatively affect the brand’s reputation. By responding quickly, Kia aims to prevent the spread of fake news and maintain market integrity.

Stay Updated with Official Sources

As social media becomes a major channel for information, Kia Pakistan urges car buyers to stay vigilant. To avoid being misled by false promotions or fraudulent pricing, always check Kia’s official announcements or consult with verified sales representatives.

This incident serves as a reminder for consumers to fact-check any viral claims before making purchasing decisions. Kia Sportage remains one of the most sought-after SUVs in Pakistan, and accurate pricing is essential for making informed choices.
