Kia PV5 Takes Top Global Van Award with Bold Range and EV Engineering

Kia has added another major win to its growing electric mobility portfolio as the all electric Kia PV5 secures the highly respected 2026 International Van of the Year award. This achievement marks a powerful moment for Kia’s commercial vehicle division as the PV5 continues to turn heads worldwide with its modern engineering, long range capability, and strong focus on real world efficiency.

The award was presented on November 19 in Lyon France where a panel of twenty six leading commercial vehicle journalists delivered a unanimous vote in favor of Kia’s electric van. Since its debut the PV5 has quickly positioned itself as a standout option for light commercial vehicle buyers who want electric power without compromising performance practicality or versatility.

What Makes the Kia PV5 Stand Out

The PV5 is Kia’s first fully electric LCV and the first model within the company’s Platform Beyond Vehicle lineup. Built on Kia’s advanced Electric Global Modular Platform for Service the PV5 blends strong range reliable output and flexible body types to accommodate different business needs.

The long wheelbase cargo van delivers a WLTP range of up to 416 km while the five seater passenger variant offers up to 412 km. Buyers can choose between two battery configurations including 51.5 kWh and 71.2 kWh options depending on load requirements and daily driving distances.

A New Benchmark for Electric Commercial Vans

The International Van of the Year jury highlighted the PV5’s contribution to improving productivity safety and efficiency in commercial fleets. Judges praised Kia for delivering an electric van that combines zero emission driving with everyday practicality making it an ideal choice for modern businesses transitioning to electric mobility.

Expected Variants and Pricing

Kia has confirmed that passenger cargo and cab chassis versions will be available when the PV5 launches in more markets. These models also qualify for the OZEV Plug in Van Grant which reduces the price by an additional £5000 making the PV5 even more appealing for fleet buyers.

With its latest victory the Kia PV5 has firmly established itself as a global leader in the electric van segment. Its strong range innovative platform and multiple body configurations position it as a top choice for businesses looking to shift toward sustainable transportation. As Kia continues expanding its electric lineup the PV5 represents a bold step forward for the future of commercial mobility.
