Karachi Traffic Police Announce Diversion Plan for PIMEC 2025 at Expo Center

The Karachi Traffic Police have announced a comprehensive traffic diversion plan for the Pakistan International Maritime Expo & Conference (PIMEC 2025), which will be held from November 3 to 6 at the Expo Center Karachi. The plan includes alternate routes, diversions, and checkpoints for heavy and commercial vehicles across key city areas to ensure smooth traffic flow during the high-profile international event.

According to traffic officials, the diversion strategy covers major areas such as Karsaz, Millennium Mall, Nipa Chowrangi, New Town, Liaquatabad, and Sir Shah Suleman Road, all of which experience high traffic density during large public gatherings.

Diversion Details by Area

Karsaz: Heavy and commercial vehicles coming from Nursery via Shahrah-e-Faisal towards the stadium through Habib Ibrahim Rehmatullah Road and Sir Shah Suleman Road will not be allowed. Such traffic should use Rashid Minhas Road via Millennium Mall and Nipa Chowrangi instead.

Millennium Mall: Heavy vehicles from Rashid Minhas Road cannot enter Dalmia Road toward the stadium. They are advised to take alternate routes via Nipa, Askari IV, or Drigh Road toward Shahrah-e-Faisal.

Nipa Chowrangi: No heavy traffic will be allowed from Nipa to Hassan Square. Instead, vehicles can take Nipa–Gulshan Chowrangi–Sohrab Goth or Nipa–Rashid Minhas–Millennium–Drigh Road routes.

New Town: Heavy vehicles from nearby areas will be restricted from entering Stadium Road or University Road. They should divert via Shaheed-e-Millat Road using Baloch Pull.

Liaquatabad No. 10: Heavy vehicles will not be permitted from Liaquatabad No. 10 to Hassan Square via Sir Shah Suleman Road. These can use Shahrah-e-Pakistan through Karimabad toward Sohrab Goth.

Additionally, traffic diversions will remain in effect between 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM for vehicles traveling from Liaquatabad and Gharibabad towards Stadium Road.

Sir Shah Suleman Road: Heavy vehicles will be barred between Hassan Square and the stadium. However, private and light vehicles may use the Hassan Square flyover toward National Bank Stadium.

Public Cooperation and Helpline Support

The Karachi Traffic Police have requested citizens to avoid parking on main and service roads near the Expo Center and cooperate with officers deployed on duty.

For real-time traffic updates, motorists can contact the Traffic Police Helpline (1915), tune in to FM Radio 88.6, or follow Karachi Traffic Police’s official social media accounts.

“Public cooperation is crucial to avoid inconvenience and maintain order during the international maritime event,” a traffic police spokesperson said.

The PIMEC 2025 is expected to attract international delegates, maritime professionals, and government officials, making traffic management a key component of event security and logistics. With strict diversions and 24/7 monitoring, authorities aim to ensure safe and efficient commuting throughout the event duration.
