The Chairman of the Intermediate Board Karachi, Faqir Muhammad Lakho, has announced that top-performing students from government colleges will soon receive electric bikes under the Prime Minister’s Students Electric Bikes Scheme. The initiative is designed to reward academic excellence while encouraging the adoption of sustainable transport solutions in Pakistan.

To celebrate the achievement of these students, a special ceremony is being organized where position holders, along with their parents and notable dignitaries, will be invited. The electric bikes—already delivered for distribution—will be handed over during this event. Officials confirmed that this recognition program will be held annually until 2030, ensuring long-term support for bright students.

ICMA Offers Full Scholarships to Position Holders

In addition to the government’s scheme, the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMA) has pledged to provide full scholarships to board position holders. This opportunity will enable high-achieving students to pursue further education completely free of charge, making higher learning more accessible to deserving youth.

Part of a Nationwide Electric Vehicle Initiative

The initiative in Karachi is part of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s nationwide scheme to distribute electric vehicles. Under this plan:

  • 100,000 electric bikes will be given to outstanding students
  • 3,000 electric rickshaws and loaders will be distributed to unemployed individuals
  • Students from all education boards across Pakistan will be eligible for participation

By combining academic recognition with eco-friendly transport, the scheme not only motivates students but also supports the government’s mission to promote electric vehicles (EVs) and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

A Dual Benefit: Education and Sustainability

The distribution of electric bikes among Karachi’s students is more than just a reward—it symbolizes the government’s commitment to both education and sustainability. While scholarships ensure that talent is nurtured and supported, electric bikes provide a modern, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly means of transport.

As the program continues until 2030, thousands of students across Pakistan will benefit, contributing to a well-educated, eco-conscious generation prepared to lead the country’s future.
