During one of the initial patrols, drones identified two illegally parked vehicles on Zaibunnisa Street, each receiving a Rs. 10,000 e-challan. This rapid enforcement demonstrates how drones can help officials respond instantly to violations that traditionally go unnoticed due to heavy congestion and limited police visibility.
Expanded Drone Coverage Across Saddar
The new Karachi drone e-challan system is currently focused on the Saddar zone—one of the busiest areas in the city. Surveillance now extends from Saddar Mobile Market to Abdullah Haroon Road, where illegal parking is a major cause of traffic bottlenecks.
Remote aerial viewing enables traffic police to detect violations with far greater accuracy than ground teams. This ensures efficient, consistent enforcement while reducing the chances of human error.
Immediate E-Challans for Violators
Officials confirmed that drone teams will now conduct routine monitoring operations across multiple high-traffic locations. Any vehicle found:
- Blocking traffic lanes
- Double-parking
- Parking in no-parking zones
- Obstructing commercial corridors
will receive an automatic and immediate e-challan, regardless of the time of day or vehicle type.
