Islamabad Police have issued a traffic advisory for Park Road due to ongoing development work at the Margalla Enclave underpass, warning motorists of possible congestion and travel delays in the area. The advisory has been released to help commuters navigate temporary diversions and reduce traffic pressure during construction.
Traffic Diversions on Park Road
According to Islamabad Traffic Police, vehicles traveling from Rawal Dam Chowk toward Taramari will be diverted through NIH Road. From there, traffic will pass through Mohra Noor before merging back onto Park Road beyond the construction site.
Meanwhile, commuters heading from Taramari toward Rawal Dam Chowk will be rerouted via Chai Khana and CDA Nursery, using two temporary roads constructed alongside the iron grill. These routes will allow vehicles to safely rejoin Park Road while avoiding the underpass work zone.
Alternate Routes Advised
To minimize delays, Islamabad Police have advised motorists to use alternate routes, including:
- Lehtrar Road
- Khanna Pul
- Islamabad Expressway
These routes are expected to ease traffic congestion near Park Road, particularly during peak hours.
Expected Delays and Traffic Management
Authorities have warned that Park Road will remain under heavy traffic load for the duration of the construction work. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow an extra 20 to 30 minutes for travel.
Traffic police personnel will remain deployed in the affected areas to regulate traffic flow, assist commuters, and ensure smooth movement along diversion routes.
Helpline and Public Advisory
Citizens seeking real-time traffic updates or further guidance can contact the Islamabad Traffic Police helpline at 1915 or dial 15 in case of emergency.
Islamabad Police have urged the public to cooperate with traffic authorities, follow diversion signs, and remain patient as infrastructure development continues to improve long-term traffic flow in the capital.
