The decision was finalized during a meeting chaired by Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday. Officials confirmed that the project will link Margalla Station in Islamabad with Saddar Station in Rawalpindi, reducing travel time to just 20 minutes.

- Infrastructure: Ministry of Railways will provide the existing track system.
