Ghandhara Industries Limited (PSX: GHNI) has announced a major breakthrough for Pakistan’s commercial vehicle market through a new strategic partnership with Zhongtong Bus Holding Co., one of China’s leading luxury bus manufacturers. The collaboration is set to reshape the country’s bus manufacturing landscape by introducing globally recognized high-end Zhongtong buses to Pakistan.
According to a filing published on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Ghandhara has officially signed a collaboration agreement that covers the introduction, distribution, and eventual local assembly of Zhongtong buses. This move represents a significant expansion of Ghandhara’s product portfolio and aligns with the company’s long-term growth strategy.
Under the agreement, Ghandhara will establish a dedicated manufacturing line exclusively for the assembly of Zhongtong buses. This facility will operate separately from the company’s existing bus body fabrication plant, signaling a major step toward full-scale local manufacturing. The new production line will support advanced technologies, align with international standards, and reinforce Pakistan’s capabilities in the commercial automotive sector.
As part of the phased rollout plan, Completely Built-Up (CBU) Zhongtong luxury buses will be launched in Pakistan in the first quarter of 2026. These units will help familiarize the local market with the brand’s premium features and build customer confidence. Following regulatory approvals and the successful expansion of Ghandhara’s manufacturing facilities, local assembly is expected to begin by mid-2026.
Ghandhara Industries stated that the partnership marks a significant milestone for the company. By diversifying its product range and adding a global bus brand to its portfolio, Ghandhara aims to capture new market segments, strengthen its competitiveness, and support long-term sustainable growth.
The collaboration is also expected to contribute to Pakistan’s industrial development by boosting local production, generating employment, and encouraging technology transfer in the commercial automotive sector.
