The Government of Pakistan has taken another bold step toward green mobility by launching the Pakistan Accelerated Vehicle Electrification (PAVE) scheme, which makes electric scooters more affordable than ever. Citizens can now purchase eco-friendly scooters on easy monthly instalments with zero percent markup, encouraging widespread adoption of electric vehicles (EVs).

Subsidy and Easy Instalments

As part of the scheme, buyers can choose from three popular Yadea electric scooter models:

  • M3H
  • T5L
  • VELAX

Each unit comes with a ₨50,000 government subsidy and the option to pay in 24 monthly instalments over two years—without any interest charges. In addition, every scooter is backed by a 4-year or 50,000 km warranty, ensuring long-term reliability.

How to Apply for the PAVE Scheme?

Applicants can register online through the official portal at pave.gov.pk/register. The process is simple:

  1. Submit personal details, CNIC, and address information.
  2. Select the desired scooter model.
  3. Generate and pay the required fee slip.
  4. Receive confirmation and delivery details once the application is processed.

Promoting Sustainable Transport

The government hopes that the PAVE scheme will:

  • Support local industry
  • Reduce reliance on fossil fuels
  • Cut urban air pollution
  • Provide cost-effective mobility solutions

This initiative aligns with Pakistan’s broader vision of sustainable urban transport and green energy adoption.

Pink Electric Scooters for Working Women in Sindh

In parallel, the Sindh government has launched a separate program to empower women through mobility. At a special ceremony attended by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah, and Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, pink electric scooters were distributed free of charge to working women.

The distribution process will follow a transparent balloting system, overseen by a committee comprising members from the Excise, Transport, and Finance departments, along with media representatives.

Women interested in applying can follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Sindh Mass Transit Authority website.
  2. Open the “Projects” section.
  3. Click “EV Scooty Ballot Form – Application Form.”
  4. Fill in details, attach required documents, and submit.

Towards a Greener Future

With both federal and provincial governments actively promoting electric scooters, Pakistan is set to witness a major shift toward eco-friendly transport solutions. From zero-markup financing under the PAVE scheme to free pink scooters for women in Sindh, these efforts mark an important milestone in building a cleaner, greener, and more inclusive transport system for the future.
