Pakistan Railways Announces Special Eid al-Adha Train Schedule

In anticipation of the upcoming Eid al-Adha festivities, Pakistan Railways has unveiled a special train schedule to accommodate the surge in holiday travel across the country. Starting from June 2, five additional trains will operate on key intercity routes, ensuring ease of travel for thousands of passengers during the holiday rush.

The initiative, announced by Pakistan Railways, aims to ease congestion and provide affordable, accessible transport options for those traveling to celebrate Eid with their families. According to the official schedule:

  • June 2: The first special train will depart from Karachi to Lahore at 1 PM.
  • June 3: The second special train will travel from Quetta to Peshawar at 10 AM.
  • June 3: The third special train will depart from Lahore to Karachi via Multan at 5 PM.
  • June 3: A fourth train will leave Karachi for Rawalpindi at 8 PM.
  • June 4: The fifth and final train will head from Karachi to Lahore at 8 PM.

Each of these special trains will feature Economy, Business, and Standard class accommodations, catering to a wide range of passenger needs and budgets. This move is part of Pakistan Railways’ broader strategy to enhance service quality during peak travel periods.

Railway Minister Hanif Abbasi has reiterated the department’s commitment to ensuring smooth and safe operations throughout the Eid holidays. In a stern warning to railway staff and officials, he stated that no negligence will be tolerated, and strict disciplinary action will be taken against any personnel found guilty of compromising service standards.

This special Eid train operation underscores the government’s commitment to improving public transportation and addressing the seasonal demands of Pakistani travelers.
