The Crime Control Department (CCD) is set to strengthen its operations across Punjab with a major upgrade to its vehicle fleet. According to officials, the department will receive 118 new vehicles worth nearly Rs 1 billion, marking a significant step toward improving response capability and overall mobility.
The update comes as part of a larger budget plan approved earlier this year. The Punjab government allocated more than Rs 2 billion to support CCD’s operational readiness. Enabling the department to purchase a wide range of new vehicles for its teams. Senior officials will receive 10 Toyota Land Cruisers, while eight double cabin pickups and 100 single cabin vehicles will be distributed across various units.
Delivery Timeline and Security Enhancements
Officials shared that delivery of the new fleet will be completed in January. Once the vehicles reach the department, the existing older units will be reassigned to their respective districts and operational wings. This redistribution aims to ensure that all CCD divisions benefit from updated resources.
The new vehicles will also undergo bulletproofing in phases before deployment. This enhancement is expected to significantly increase field safety and improve operational efficiency during high risk assignments across Punjab.
