BYD, the world-renowned leader in electric vehicle innovation, is gearing up to make waves in Pakistan’s automotive market with the upcoming launch of its Shark 6 PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle). Set to debut in June or July 2025, this futuristic hybrid pickup truck promises to blend rugged performance with cutting-edge sustainability. Following in the footsteps of models like the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid, the Shark 6 is expected to elevate the eco-friendly vehicle segment in Pakistan.

The BYD Shark 6 PHEV is a hybrid powerhouse, combining a 5-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine with dual electric motors to deliver a total output of 321KW. This setup not only offers impressive strength and off-road capabilities thanks to its all-wheel drive system, but also ensures fuel efficiency of 13 km/L and an 80 km electric-only range—courtesy of its 58 kWh LFP battery.

Striking Design Meets Intelligent Features

Visually, the Shark 6 PHEV lives up to its name with a shark-inspired grille, sharp lines, and 18-inch wheels with Continental tires for a bold road presence. Its LED headlights, continuous rear lava lamps, and shark-fin antenna further accentuate its modern design, drawing subtle inspiration from high-performance pickups like the Ford Raptor.

Inside, the cabin exudes luxury and innovation. Drivers can expect plush orange-and-black seating, a rotating digital touchscreen, NFC keyless entry, voice controls, and a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) including radar sensors, lane assist, blind-spot detection, and fatigue monitoring.

Local Assembly and Economic Boost

Initial units of the Shark 6 PHEV will arrive as CBUs (Completely Built Units), with bookings likely to start in late April or early May 2025. Excitingly, BYD plans to begin local assembly by 2026, a move poised to boost Pakistan’s economy by creating new jobs and encouraging technology transfer in the EV sector.

Final Thoughts

The BYD Shark 6 PHEV is not just another pickup—it’s a symbol of the future. Combining sustainability with raw power, intelligent features, and stylish design, it could redefine expectations in Pakistan’s auto market. Stay tuned as more official details are released in the coming months.
