The 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) is underway in Belém, Brazil, bringing together world leaders, climate specialists, and policymakers to shape the global climate agenda. Supporting the summit’s sustainability goals, BYD has deployed a 130-vehicle new energy fleet to provide low-carbon shuttle services for heads of state and international delegates. The initiative underscores BYD’s deep commitment to promoting clean transportation and accelerating decarbonization efforts in the Amazon region.
During the conference, Tyler Li, President of BYD Brazil, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the essential role of technological innovation in achieving global low-carbon development. He highlighted that the widespread adoption of new energy vehicles (NEVs) is critical for reducing emissions in the transportation sector—one of the largest contributors to global carbon output.
Mr. Li further noted that BYD is advancing this transition through key technological breakthroughs. These include the Fifth Generation DM Super Hybrid and Flash Charging technologies, which are designed to make NEVs more convenient, efficient, and accessible. Such innovations lower the barriers to adoption worldwide and help accelerate the shift toward clean mobility.
BYD Opens New Store in Belém to Strengthen Amazon Decarbonization Efforts
In parallel with its participation at COP30, BYD officially opened its new store in Belém. The launch ceremony was attended by high-profile Brazilian officials, including Bahia State Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues, Chief of Staff Rui Costa, and Tourism Minister Celso Sabino.
The new store represents a milestone in BYD’s commitment to the Amazon region, with the company outlining plans to transform the area into a hub for green transportation and sustainable mobility solutions. This strategic expansion supports Brazil’s broader climate goals while strengthening BYD’s presence in one of the world’s most ecologically critical regions.
Driving the Global Electrification Vision
Through its active participation in COP30 and deployment of a large NEV fleet, BYD is contributing to global sustainability efforts while showcasing its role as a leader in the clean energy transition. The company reaffirmed its long-term mission to “Cool the Earth by 1 Degree,” emphasizing continued investment in innovation and integrated solutions that support global electrification.
As the world works to accelerate climate action, BYD’s initiatives at COP30 demonstrate how public-private partnerships and clean mobility technologies can help shape a more sustainable future.
