Thatta Cement Company Limited has revealed a significant step in its diversification strategy as its wholly owned subsidiary, Minsk Work Tractor & Assembling (Private) Limited (MWTA), has signed an exclusive agreement with OJSC Minsk Tractor Works of Belarus. The partnership will enable MWTA to assemble and locally produce BELARUS tractors in Balochistan, boosting Pakistan’s industrial capacity and self-reliance in the agricultural machinery sector.
According to a disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on October 20, 2025, MWTA has obtained exclusive rights to assemble and distribute BELARUS tractors within the province. This strategic collaboration marks an important milestone in enhancing local manufacturing and reducing dependence on imported agricultural equipment.
The initiative aims to promote industrial development, create employment opportunities, and facilitate technology transfer to Pakistan by setting up a modern tractor assembly facility in Balochistan. The project is expected to attract technical expertise and investment to the province, contributing to regional economic uplift and skill development.
Thatta Cement emphasized that this agreement represents a major strategic development for the company’s subsidiary. It aligns with the group’s vision to diversify its business portfolio beyond cement production and tap into emerging industrial sectors with high growth potential.
The production of BELARUS tractors—renowned for their durability and performance—will not only strengthen Pakistan’s agricultural sector but also provide local farmers with reliable, cost-effective machinery. Industry analysts view this partnership as a positive long-term move that could pave the way for greater industrial collaboration between Pakistan and Belarus.
With the launch of local assembly operations, Balochistan is poised to become a new hub for agricultural machinery production, driving progress in both industry and agriculture across the region.
