Flying cars are no longer just a sci-fi fantasy—Alef Aeronautics, a US-based automaker, has made them a reality. The company has released the first-ever footage of its electric flying car in action, showcasing a successful test flight that marks a groundbreaking moment in automotive and aeronautical engineering.

Alef’s Flying Car Takes Off in California

Alef Aeronautics conducted a test flight on a closed road in California, where the futuristic vehicle was seen driving like a regular car before it suddenly lifted off vertically and soared over another vehicle. The test showcased its seamless transition from ground transportation to aerial flight, proving the car’s viability for urban environments.

Meet Alef’s Model A: The First Street-Legal Flying Car

Alef’s prototype is a lightweight version of Model A, the company’s first street-legal flying car. Key specifications include:

✔ Seating Capacity: Two passengers
✔ Flying Range: 110 miles
✔ Driving Range: 200 miles
✔ Autopilot Flight Capabilities
✔ Obstacle Detection & Glide Landing System
✔ Ballistic Parachute for Emergencies

The Model A uses eight hidden rotors for stable flight and four small wheel motors for driving and parking. While its top speed on the road is only 25 mph, its real advantage lies in its ability to take off and bypass traffic congestion.

How Much Does Alef’s Flying Car Cost?

Alef Aeronautics has already secured 3,300 pre-orders for the Model A. Customers can reserve one with a $150 deposit, but the full price is $299,999.

A Historic Moment for Transportation

Alef CEO Jim Dukhovny compared this moment to the Wright Brothers’ first flight in 1903, emphasizing the significance of vertical take-off vehicles in reshaping urban mobility. The 100% electric flying car, which is reportedly backed by Elon Musk, could revolutionize the way people commute in the future.

Our Verdict

With Alef’s Model A, the dream of flying cars is no longer a distant vision—it’s here! As technology advances, we may soon see a future where traffic jams are a thing of the past and urban travel takes to the skies.
