Pakistan’s auto market is preparing for a new entrant as iCaur moves toward a local launch through Nishat Group. The company is expanding its presence after introducing Omoda and Jaecoo, signaling a clear shift toward new energy vehicles.
Nishat Group confirmed the development through its subsidiary NexGen Auto. This step shows a growing focus on electric mobility and modern vehicle technologies in Pakistan.
iCaur, a Chery subsidiary, launched in 2023 as a dedicated electric vehicle brand. It operates as iCar in China but uses the iCaur name in global markets due to trademark restrictions.
The brand focuses on electric and range extended vehicles with bold SUV styling. Its models feature boxy shapes, upright stance, and modern design elements. As a result, iCaur offers a different look compared to traditional SUVs in Pakistan.
Lineup and Market Position
iCaur offers three main models globally, including the V23, 03T, and V27. Each model targets a specific type of buyer while keeping the brand’s core identity intact.
The V23 acts as the entry level option. It is a compact electric SUV inspired by classic off road vehicles. In contrast, the 03T uses a range extended system, combining electric driving with a petrol generator.

The V27 sits at the top of the lineup. It targets buyers who want stronger off road capability. The model uses a range extended setup and supports long distance travel.

Another key feature is the modular design approach. Owners can customize their vehicles with accessories, racks, and lighting options. This flexibility adds a new dimension to SUV ownership in Pakistan.
However, the brand enters a market that values reliability and resale. Models like Fortuner and Land Cruiser still dominate due to their strong reputation and service networks.
iCaur does not directly target those buyers. Instead, it aims at customers who want something different. These buyers often prioritize design, technology, and driving experience over resale value.

At the same time, challenges remain. The brand must build after sales support, ensure spare parts availability, and train technicians. Without these, customer confidence may take time to develop.
Meanwhile, changing market trends may work in iCaur’s favor. Buyers are slowly exploring new technologies and alternative brands. This shift creates space for newer entrants in the premium segment.
Overall, iCaur’s arrival reflects a broader change in Pakistan’s auto industry. More brands now focus on electrification and innovation. If executed well, this launch could influence future buying trends and expand the market for advanced vehicles.
